Changes in mesh editing?

Since I last did mesh editing, it seems as though there have been several changes in behavior, the net effect of which has been to remove most capability for editing complex meshes. For instance:

- The Mesh Palette's "Brush Size" slider won't stay put, so when I go to select a single face of a mesh, I can't do it because as I move the cursor over the mesh, the slider jumps up to a larger size.

- The Mesh Palette's "Expand to Face Group" button either does nothing or selects the entire mesh group.

- Clicking on the mesh group now often selects a disjoint (noncontiguous) set of faces!

- Clicking again on the mesh adds to the face-selection set; previously I thought I needed to add +Shift to make that happen (I could be wrong about that).

- In Display Settings, selecting Mesh Display -> Show Face Groups gets the desired behavior until the face-selection group changes, at which point the entire mesh group is given the same color and "Show Face Groups" must be toggled off/on to get the face-group colors back.

There are so many new issues with mesh editing that I wonder if this could be a graphics-driver problem? I have Nvidia driver v432.0 for a GeForce GTX 660 Ti; this driver is close to six months old.

I'm not aware of any recent changes to Mesh selection, but I could be wrong on that.  I just did a quick test, and it all works like at least I remember it working in the past.  I don't see anything weird with the brush size selector.  I think it has always been the case that mesh selection was cumulative, but I'm not 100% certain of that.  I think it's always been that way.  Shift also adds, and Alt always removes from selection.  I can check on that, because mesh was always a bit different than other workspaces.   Expand to Face Group seems to work OK for me - you have to have Face Groups defined, or it will expand to the whole mesh.

Can you record a video of what you are seeing with the brush size, Face Group selection, etc?

Jeff, I just found out that all of this apparently-odd behavior was happening because I had *two* identical mesh groups in the exact same position. I had made a copy of my mesh group before starting to edit it, and put the copy in a different group. But I forgot to turn its visibility off!

So now everything's working just as it was before, by which I mean it's working GREAT. Thanks for your prompt response!
