Center point arc creating the wrong segment

I wanted to create a small cylinder with raised text. Not particularly easy with this software but I found a good tutorial about it. The process is to create a arc that is not completely closed. Using sheetmetal setting so it has a wall thickness. extrude it out. created a small extrusion on the edge of the open segment of the cylinder to create a flat surface to unfold the circle with, create the raised text on the flat part and refold.

I Can't get past creating the arc!!! I start my center point, denote my desired radius, click on a starting point, enter the degree value for the arc. In my case, i chose 358 degrees to give me an opening large enough to be able to highlight the face of the edge. When I create the arc, the program created an arc that is only 2 degrees! The drawing is a minute line that goes from the start to the end instead of around and making almost an entire circle.

1. Is there a better way to create a cylinder with raised text?

2. Why won't it draw the larger circle?

The only way i have been able to draw it is to draw a 180 degree circle and then attach a 178 degree circle attached to it. seems ridiculous to me

Your topic title says you are having issues with sketching a Three Point Arc where you written description of what you are doing describes the sketching of a Center Point Arc.  The screen picks are very different between the two.  The Screencast will explain.

Thank you for correcting me. I was, in fact, having issues with the center point arc feature not creating the correct segment.

Emboss will work for a cylinder and is easier than using sheet metal.

I logged on this morning and I wasn’t able to duplicate the problem. Somehow, when I initially had this issue, I clicked a start point and then was able to enter a diameter value then I could enter a degree value to create the arc segment I wanted. I don’t know if the software has changed or I just don’t remember how I did it at the time.
