hey everyone,
im coming from another CAD software (NX) where you can hover over a line and catch the midpoint of both straight lines and curves (It is enabled by clicking the button marked in the screenshot). Thereby you are able to apply any constrain to the midpoint just as you can with endpoints in fusion 360. I know there is the midpoint constrain, but as far as i know, it is only a coincident constraint for midpoints. In every little sketch I make this turns me crazy, which is really sad as i otherwise love the entire software. I know the workarounds with hidden lines and stuff, but come on this is one of the most basic functions in sketching.. 😞
To give you an example:
I want a line to be tangential to a circle on the midpoint of the straight line. If I use the midpoint constraint, and click the straight line first, and then the curve, the midpoint of the line catches on the midpoint of the circle. Not ON the circle.
PLEEEEEASE Make an option to catch the midpoints of both straight lines and curves!! Or is there a script or add on for that? As we are talking abut catch points, aka snap points, the other options in NX (see screenshot) are suuuper helpfull as well. Would be incredibly awesome if one would have these options in fusion 360. Thereby you could also get rid of the midpoint constraint which honestly is super unflexible as it is only a coincident constraint for midpoints.
Long story short: Would be gratefull to hear if there is a way to implement this opton myself and wanted to suggest this feature.
Thanks and cheers 🙂
