carbon fiber material and appearance does not display properly - it is solid black with no texture

I have been trying to fix my carbon fiber appearance for weeks now, and have been unable to fix it. It used to look properly like carbon fiber. Something changed a while back, and I am not sure what happened.
I have searched online and all I can find is how to apply materials and appearances. I already know how to do that.
The problem is that, with the CFRP material and the Carbon Fiber appearance applied, I see solid black.
I do not see the fibers in the carbon fiber.
I am not sure when this change happened, but it has been bugging me, ever since. I also feel like maybe some of the other materials have changed their appearance, also.
I have tried:
- Changing the Workspace
- Changing the Visual Style
- Changing the Environment, Effects, Object Visibility, Camera, Ground Plane offset......l
Please help me to figure this out. It is driving me crazy...

This changed one day, and it affected all of the models I have that have carbon fiber material and appearance applied.  It even happens in a newly created model - tried applying only appearance, and only material, also.
Thanks in advance

I know that this is not particularly helpful, but it seems to be OK for me:

This is Carbon Fiber - Plain

One thing to check - did the scale factor somehow get changed.  If you edit the appearance, check out what the Scale is set to.  I think the default is 50.  Also check the other parameters.

It also could be a graphics driver issue.

Finally figured it out.

Had to re-download carbon fiber twill on a new computer, and then overwrite
the pre-existing appearance.

Wow. Glad it is fixed
