HI,

I have a problem which is starting to make me really angry. I was working with a project drawing when the FUSION 360 crashed. AFter the crash I am not able to open the application again, restarting computer doesnt help at all.

Iwas forced to do a clean instalation then i was able to open the app again, but then i got the same crash after few minutes and here we go again, cant open the app.

Do anybody pls know how to solve this? The app is unusable like this and I am really desperate I cant finish my work.

I am a mac user.

Thank you Ondrej

Is it possible you have the same issue as described on this post?

Hi,

unfortunatelly not. Now the fusion even started to freeze after few hours of work, and then it cant be closed otherwise then forcing it to quit and after it guess what it wount start so right now I am reinstalling fusion 2-3 times a day and every time i do it i loose everything like tools library add ins and so on.

How is this even possible is the app really up to date to the newest MAc os?

Thank anyone for any suggestions.

Hi,

From your recent crash reports, I see you are using 10.13.6. This is the oldest macOS that is supported by Fusion.

Do you experience this freezing when working on a particular design, or on any design including new designs?

Before you install again, can you gather the diagnostic logs and post them or send them to me? These are found on the help menu, under support and diagnostics.

Hi,

thanks for follow up. I am not sure if the crash log is the most recent, because since i have these problems, the program completely freezes and its unable to get to the state when you can send crash logs. I am not at the main computer at the moment so i will send you my version of Mac Os tommorow local time.

Regarding  the crashes I dont see any pattern there, but bigger part of the crashes were from the drawing interface, but the rest of them from rutine design, also no pattern here. It freezes randomly after various operations.

For example i start new scetch and during the face load it freezes and stay like it is. I tried to wait but even after several minutes its still freezed. Then the same process: force to quit, no crash log dialog and then the app cant be opened again, even after restart. The only think to get the app going again is to use fusion 360 cleaner and then reinstall. But i get 2-4 freezes like this during the day depends on number of hours i spent designing but its also random.

Unfortunally as mentioned I cant send you desired data, because its impossible to open the app after freeze. Is it possible to find crash data somewhere in the app content folders so i can send it?

Thank you very much for your help.

Sorry I missed this reply until today.

First please do a full clean uninstall by using the manual steps.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-t...

After that, only after the problem happens again, please gather the logs manually prior to re-install again. Post them here, glad to look, and they may be helpful.

Here are instructions for gathering logs manually while Fusion is not running.

Hi,

So after few weeks it looked like the problem was solved with the latest MAC os update, but unfortunatelly the problem is here again. Same as usuall multiple crashes per day solvable only with multiple clean reinstall a day. Its really flustrating, every time i do this i have to re setup all of my add ins lossing date in them and so on.

I was able to gather two crash reports, now it freezes then it asks for send crash report which i did and then instead of shutting down it stays freezed and i have to force quit it, after that there is no way to run the app again without clean reinstall.

Can you please help using the latest crash reports? I am really desperate.

Thank you Ondrej

This is related to font folder permissions on your machine.

After re-installing Fusion, does the crash happen during drawings workflows?

If yes, are you using a custom template?

Hi,

sadly i dont see any pattern here, the crashes are just random.

Today i got it again and I was able to gather some logs from the advised folders, but there are only two log files related to Fusion 360, not all of them as in the instructions.

Thanks. There are some errors in the mac log. There is some advice on apple forums about starting in safe mode to clear caches that might cause errors like this.

Please restart the computer in safe mode. Certain caches maintained by the system will be rebuilt.

Safe mode is much slower to start up than normal. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.

When the login screen appears, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and test. There's no need to log in while in safe mode.

Starting in safe mode on mac:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Follow the instructions for Intel chip set.

After that start or install Fusion and see if the problem goes away again.

Also, there are entries in the log that show problems with an addin for Outlook called CardDAV Plugin. It's a long shot, but you could try stopping the plugin as another test.

And just to confirm, you use only default fonts? (for drawings, UI display, etc.) And have not edited the fonts library on your mac lately, to correspond with this renewed crashing?

One last note: There is only one recent crash report from you. Is it possible for you to send more of these?

Hi,

so i did the safe mode restart as instructed, but unfortunatelly the problem remain. Now after lastest freeze a cant run Fusion again.

THe crash logs: Unfortunatelly I cant send more, because when I follow the instructions for Mac, the files are not in the instructed directory, the only logs which are associated with Fusion are the ones i sended.

Its really confusing how something like this keeps on happening.
