Hi!

Im running Fusion 360 on a Apple Mac mini M1 in school and on a MacBook Pro at home. After opening files on the M1 Mac I cannot open then on the Mac book pro Intel. The error message "An unexpected error occurred while downloading and opening a document"

Is there a way to fix this? Have tried downloading the file from the browser and upload it but it doesn't work..

Kind regards
Adam

Hi,

What you describe is not reproducible. I just checked using the exact hardware you describe. Also, there is no difference between  design data created on M1 vs any other chip. So there must be another explanation.

Is it possible the computer at school was closed before the design was finished uploading when you saved it?

What might show some clues is if you try to open the design again, and when it fails, immediately grab your diagnostic logs to attach here. Fusion's diagnostic logs are for cloud activity, so they may show why the design is unavailable.

Thanks,

Hi Phil,

Thank you for your quick response. I did force quit before upload was finished recently but even though I open the app again, letting it upload i still had the same problem. But after the recent Fusion update yesterday I could access my projects. However I could not save the files after edit getting a message saying "Cannot be saved" (See screen grab.)

I did manage to get it to work by loggin in from a different computer and then going back to the computer that wouldnt save. I have no clue what fixed it but it's working now so Im pleased 😃

Thanks again!

Kind regards

Adam

Thanks.

In general, it's probably best to allow Fusion to save a design completely without force quitting the application.
