Cannot open backup file: "Initializing segment meta stream failed"

I lost all of today's work when Fusion crashed. When I select the file in the recovery dialog, I get an error "Initializing segment meta stream failed!"

I also tried locating the .backup file and changing the extension to .f3d, same issue.

NOW I'm annoyed. I opened a previous version of the file and started recreating my edits, and THE FIRST TIME I PRESSED SAVE Fusion crashed, and the backup file is unopenable.

This all started happening today right after Fusion asked me to set up "teams" whatever that is.

Même soucis :

Après avoir exporté mes fichiers en local sur mon ordinateur et fait le ménage du panneau de données Fusion, c'est à dire supprimé mes fichier de leurs serveurs pour épurer. Quand j'ai voulu remettre certains fichiers; beau message:

"Initializing segment meta stream failed!

Grrrrr.

Je ne trouve pas de solution.

Translate:

Same problem:

After exporting my files locally on my computer and cleaning up the Fusion data panel, that is to say deleted my files from their servers to purify. When I wanted to put some files back; nice message:

"Initializing segment meta stream failed!
Unable to load file C:/Users/virtualdoor/AppData/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/7BY5KLNHAW5F/W.login/F/_Direct Drive MGN v36 v33.49169a94-3a6d-4dec-b518-6d623b56e799.f3d."

124 GB on this file lost.

On this project, these are dozens of hours of work lost. And I lost many other files.

Well done updates, I had already done this kind of manipulation without ever having any problems with my locally saved files.
After their famous update, which in fact does not do much, my files are no longer usable. Grrrrr.

I can't find a solution.

Same problem, lost hours of work. Hoping for a response from the Autodesk team. This is a serious problem. Exact message:

Initializing segment meta stream failed!

The file [.../CrashRecovery/filename1.backup] could not be loaded.

The file [.../W.login/F/filename2.f3d] could not be loaded.

I checked, and the first file exists, but the directory W.login does not. From what I can tell, the actual file for the model simply doesn't exist 😕

"filename1" is a string of random characters, "filename2" is the name of the model with different random characters on the end.

I tried updating, but that (and by extension restarting) did nothing.

Is this what everyone else is observing as well? I guess I'll just have to save more frequently and make the version number skyrocket until I know this is fixed.

Same issue here.  The crash happened when trying to "save a copy as" of a sub-component in my design.  Now I get the Initializing segment meta stream failed! message when I try to open the recovery file.  Seems like in the past I've gotten around this by toggling off/on  the work offline button.  Not this time.  This issue has been reported a lot but this is currently the most recent thread.

The file integrity system in Fusion is just good enough to lull you into complacency but bad enough that when it fails, you are really screwed.

In summation:

1995: Save early, save often!

2025: Save early, save often!
