Cannot figure out how to extrude this.

Hello,

I am trying to design an oddly shaped bookshelf that I would like to put up on one of my walls. I have created the back and sides and am now trying to sketch in the actual shelves. I have created the sketch for the shelves... They are not square by design, but are all parallel to the ground and level. When I finish sketch and try to extrude the shelves the amount needed for the wood shelf, it does not give me the option to extrude the shelf or select the sketch as a face. Just seeing if anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong.

Attached  are some photos. Sketch onlySketch onlyConcept of shelfConcept of shelfunderside view.underside view.

Hi,

You cannot see any extrudable profiles (blue) in the screenshots.

Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d on local device  > attach it to the next post.

I Couldn't figure out how to make this sketch a profile. I have attached the file to this reply. Thank you for responding.

Patch and Thicken (but I suspect that you have a bit of twist - not quite planar).

The @TheCADWhisperer solution is by far the best solution but he did not really answer your question.  Please take a look at the Screencast as I will try to explain the reason you could not get a profile to extrude.

Thank you VERY MUCH!, I have been teaching 3D printing for a couple of years, but since COVID I have had to try to transition to 3D modeling, which I know very little about and have been taking every course I can. This is one of those things that I have not been able to answer for my students and appreciate your time!!
