cannot drag or move with cursor

In tutorials, I see people move bodies around Fusion 360 with a touch of the cursor -without opening a "move object" dialog box.  More importantly, they test motion links by dragging on a part with the cursor as if manipulating the parts by hand.  Adding joints and motion links is shockingly easy (thank you, Fusion!), yet I cannot find the secret to what appears to be a very simple thing; manipulating the parts with my cursor.  What am I doing wrong?  Is there a setting I need to change, somewhere?  My cursor selects.  It does not move objects in any way without using the move dialog box.

So they aren't moving them as bodies, but as components. Bodies cannot be 'click dragged' around but components can because they are assembly parts.

If design history is enabled its always on, if you have design history disabled you'll need to enable component drag:
