Lately when I close Fusion I get the above message with "Jobs remaining:1" and Fusion will not close unless I "Pause Jobs"
I cant see what file is down or uploading, and this condition will not clear. Clear Cache Data makes no difference.
Any assistance gratefully recieved
Same problem here. Clearing cache has no effect.
There was this problem:
Any relations?
I have been having the same issue for over a week. Following in hopes of a solution. It started after I uploaded a large number of files. All the files I uploaded completed uploading, but I continue to get this message:
I have the same issue. Clicking 'Pause Jobs' causes Fusion to hang indefinitely. I have to force quit using task manager to quite Fusion.
I have been having the same issue for around 3 years. It never goes away and the only way I can close down is to pause jobs or force quit.
I have the same issue and it is a right pain in the arse - I have to close fusion in order to go on the internet as whatever is happening slows things right down
Same Issue for me for the last 3 weeks.
I was excited when I googled this message and found the exact error message in a Fusion Support forum, thinking there would be a solution to fix the problem. But unfortunately the only replies are people with the same issue.
I assume we just have to wait until enough people complain about the same problem before someone from Autodesk support will take notice.
Disclaimer: "Don't do this at home" I'm not from Autodesk and I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm just an end user that was disappointed there wasn't a fix for this error.
This error was really annoying me and I was about to start un-installing and re-installing in an attempt to fix the issue .
Before I did this I found a support article that suggested running
Fusion.CancelUploads/force
in the File->View->Show text commands window
as a possible solution to the problem.
Unfortunately this didn't fix the problem for me but it did mention something about the following folder
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\YWB5MQ6EN5R3
So I thought YOLO, what have I got to lose, I'm about to reinstall everything anyway. I'll delete this folder and see if this either does nothing, breaks everything and I have to re-install, or maybe it might delete the file that is causing the issue.
NB: Before I deleted this folder I went searching through this directory and found one fusion file will some weird name, deep down in some folders. I opened this file (Again, probably something you shouldn't do from inside appdata) and I noticed that it was a project I was working on around the time that this problem all started. So I thought I'd delete the folder and see what happens.
Anyway, when I restarted fusion this folder and all it's subfolders was recreated and the problem was fixed, no more error message every time I closed fusion.
I know messing with the appdata folders is something that shouldn't be done and I'll probably regret it latter on when some other part of fusion 360 breaks because I did this. But at the moment everything is working and I've delayed having to un-install and re-install everything. What I'm really hoping is, that someone from Fusion 360 support will read this post and see that end users are getting really frustrated with this error and are willing to try anything to fix the problem so they might offer some "correct" method to fix the issue.
My advice, don't do this fix unless you are prepared that it might break everything and you will have to re-install.
This is a Hail Mary. In a worst case scenario following these instructions could break something and force you to reinstall Fusion 360. Unless your OK with that, do not proceed. You have been warned.
Just though I would add a few comments and hopefully help a few more people.
I followed your instructions as best as I could but somewhere along the line I lost you. It could be that I was directed to a different folder than you were when running the command you provided. Here is what worked for me.
I went to the "Appdata/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360" folder. In that folder was a folder with a long string of numbers and no letters. With Fusion 360 closed I cut the folder and pasted it in my documents folder for in case I needed to put it back later.
I restarted Fusion and everything seems to be working fine. The folder I removed was recreated automatically but without the error that was causing the file. So far nothing seems to be amiss.
I also found a file folder in the AppData with a long name that was just a list of letters and numbers. I moved the folder to my desktop. So far no adverse results and I am able to close Fusion without the error message. Thanks for the idea!
Hey, this did the trick for me too! Thanks everyone.
Somewhat alarming that Autodesk hasn't chimed in in this thread at all. I don't know how this got screwed up in the first place, but it seems to have affected a lot of us, and while clearly a bunch of us are comfortable nuking folders off our machines, that probably isn't the best solution going forward.
I can't find this location to remove the offending file. Is this a windows path? I am on Mac. Does anyone know where to find this on a Mac?
I cannot find such a folder with only numbers in the "Appdata/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360" folder"
I find myself having this problem also since today
Would reinstalling be a solution?
I'm having the issue on both my computers, would be weird if both my installations of fusion went bad at the same time... Maybe it is more a server problem?
I worked offline today for a while and everything worked fine until I had to go back online because some file went lost and now I'm stuck again and I can't continue my work...
I couldn't find that folder either on my Mac so gave up.
I have reinstalled several times but it doesn't fix the issue unfortunately.
FYI: That path was on a windows machine. Sorry I don't know where you would look on a MAC or even if that would fix the problem on a MAC. I'm just an end user that posted a fix that worked for me on a windows machine.
If you are performing a complete re-install and the problem is still there after a re-install, I'm guessing there must be some sort of equivalent folder on MAC to what Appdata is on a PC. A quick google search gives three spots to look.
~Library/Application Support
~Library/Caches
~Library/Preferences
NB ~library is a hidden folder in your user profile. Google how to look at it.
Maybe search for Autodesk in those folders and see what you can find. Assuming you don't have any other Autodesk software installed on your MAC, what have you got to lose if you have completely uninstalled all Autodesk products.
To be honest, I was hoping someone from Autodesk would step here and either fix the program so that this problem doesn't happen or offer an official fix with instruction for windows and Mac users but that hasn't happened yet.
Remember, I'm not an Autodesk employee and I'm not recommend you do any of this if you don't accept the risks. As
@Ianhamilton stated, this a Hail Mary, but it seems to be fixing the problem for windows users.
Maybe the best solution would be to open a support case with Autodesk directly. Good luck which ever way you choose.
Hi Warren
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate you trying to help. I wasn't having a go at you in any way. Like you, I was hoping someone from Auto desk would chime in and either fix the issue or suggest how we users could fix it ourselves.
In response to the points you made in your post (merely as information/context for anyone else following the thread):
I don't have any other Autodesk products on my machine and never have had as far as I know.
I have done a complete reinstall on more than one occasion to no avail. As you stated, it does seem reasonable to assume there must be a similar file on Mac. However, I can't find it. I had already tried all the Library options as well as searching for the file name but nothing comes up.
As no one from Auto desk has come up with a solution I was hoping that another Mac user may have managed to find the equivalent file and could let me know what it is called.
Once again, thank you for your input and for trying to help. 👍
