According to a 2017 reply by an Autodesk representative, this was on the roadmap. I don't see this functionality available yet. Please provide an update. Thanks!

Hey MichaelBurnsBITLLC,

Unfortunately we haven't implemented this function yet and I don't have an estimate of when it might happen. I find I have the best results in my renderings when a make a physical object and apply an emissive material to it instead of relying on the lighting in the Rendering workspace. This way I can control the location and intensity of the light as I please.

Can you specify what exactly you mean with that?

Unless you use emissive materials on geometry that you can move around freely, the only other source of illumination are HDRI images (mostly digital photographs) , which have all the lighting information baked in. These can be rotated around the Z-Axis. However, you cannot change the azimuth of the light source as that would not make a lot of sense given the source of the lighting information.
