I want to apply a special pattern to the surface of this vase. For this, I need to unfold its surface. I have tried remaking it using sheet metal tools after failing with a solid one, however, it fails again.

How can I adapt the existing design if it is impossible to unfold? Can I first apply the pattern to a flat surface and deform it afterwards as an option?
