Can't organize components in browser tree

I'm trying reorganize the components in the browser tree, but they don't move.  See screencast: http://autode.sk/2iMb6IL

I'm on a Mac ver 10.11.6

Hi @SGoldthwaite

Thank you for your posting! 🙂

I think your model has related to history, that's why you can't organize it.

Have you seen this thread? Fusion 360 Rule #1

Before starting modeling, it will be better to set the component structuring. If you can share your design, I would explain in more details. Here is how to share it

If you don't care for the history, you will resolve with "Do not capture Design history". What is design history?

I look forward to your reply

Many thanks,

Ahreum.

Hi @SGoldthwaite

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, I was able to reproduce it so I reported it to the development team (FUS-37482). If I receive any response I will get back to you.

As a workaround, It will work if you move toward light bulbs. Please take a look at this video : http://autode.sk/2iXBzU1

Thank you for your understanding! Smiley Embarassed

Many thanks,

Ahreum.

The workaround worked for me.

Still no update addressing this issue?

This is really annoying.

@ahreum.ryu Would you please comment on any progress on this. It's been almost two years and the issue of moving components within the browser remains (that's why I'm here).

My case of today (not sure if it's the same as @SGoldthwaite 's or not):

- created a simple bushing component, no dependencies to it from rest of the model yet

- before using, noticed that I had created it by mistake twice (two levels down)

- trying to move by mouse gives visual indication this could be possible, but when I release the mouse, nothing happens

At the least, I would expect Fusion 360 to give an indication in such "no can't move" cases as to the reason it cannot move. Would also be nice if validity of potential moves already affected the blue horizontal ("will drop here") bar, while dragging. E.g. make it red if a move won't work.

Edit: Based on this (from 2017) the visual indication that reorganizing would be possible shouldn't even be there. Is it _ever_ possible to reorganize entries in the browser?
