I assume you are speaking of the Design Samples or Cam Samples. If you right click on the file, in the Data Panel, you do not get the Open option. If you simply double left click, I find the files open just fine. I think this is because these files are read only and setup in the Data Panel a different way.

Thanks for responding, John. But no luck here.

Here's the most common knowledge topic case. You can find related community topics on the bottom.
You have to help identify the problem with your application. Maybe you have trouble working in online mode. Or it could be that you may be connected to a work environment and your organization did not supply sample material.
Well, I'm my own organization. Meanwhile I tried with my notebook. No luck with opening sample files, too. I can see them in the Data Panel, but none of all samples can be opened. This started yesterday.

Hmm. Did I miss that?
I can open my own files or non-sample files by right-click and then left mouse choosing "Open" in the following menu. But this doesn't work with samples.
A few minutes ago I noticed, that quick double-clicking with left mouse opens the samples now. Is that new?

Think you hit the nail on the head here. I am handicapped and have my double-click speed set really slow. Had to get someone to double-click really fast and it (bike frame design sample) opened. For some reason, it is ignoring custom mouse/click (possibly accessibility) settings. Autodesk: If you're reading this, it's a bug.
