Can't make sketches, do not see sketch-associated functions!

Hello forum,

 

Need some help here. For some reason I cannot see the tool that allows me to make sketches (see menu bar).

Even if I create a new plane (as shown below) and right click in it (or on a face) I am not being allow

ed to make a sketch. In particular, if I right-click on a face or plane, the option for "SKETCH" appears in the contextual menu, but attempting to navigate into it shows all options grayed out - I am not allowed to make sketches.

Cold anyone please tell me why that is so, and how to solve this?

So, I am not quite sure what happened, but I pressed the "DESIGN" button again and the SKETCH functions reappeared (see below).

I'm not sure why this is the case, I have a hard time finding Fusion 360 an intuitive software, and sometimes I am not sure what the heck is going on... it is a uphill battle. Seems this one is solved, I just don't know why the problem to begin with...
