Can't find the arrange feature

Hi!

I'm new to Fusion 360. I'm a slow learner but I believe it's a great tool to know how to use, and it's pretty fun as well.

I'm trying to design a desk that sits underneath my bed which I will be able to lift ut 90degrees with the help of gas struts. I have designed it in fusion to make the woodworking part of the project easier by making a cut-sheet. I have no idea if that is the best way of making a cut-sheet, but my plan is to use the new "arrange feature" of fusion.

My problem here is that I can't find the arrange feature. There is no available update, I have tried to "turning it off an on again" .

I took a short video to show you what my problem is. I hope someone can help (and that this is the right place to ask this question) Thanks!
Knut

You are missing a few clicks.  Watch the Screencast to get to where you want to be.  A little hint, I would create a work plane or sketch BEFORE you get to the Arrange command just to make life easier.  If you use a sketch, add a rectangle large enough to accommodate all your arranged components.

There are two possibilities.  First, what Fusion 360 License type are you using.  If it is a Personal License, this feature does not seem to be available to you.  Second, if you have another type of license, you muse have both of these setting marked under your Preferences, Preview section.  If you need to check your license type, click on the "?" mark in the top right corner and then chose the About command.  You will see your license type in the upper left hard corner.

I understand John. I thought that that might have been the problem, that my free version of fusion made it impossible.

(I checked the question mark and it said; "Active Plan: Fusion 360, Personal")

But the thing is that on your recordings and others i find on youtube there is a green eye icon on the arrange preview feature, and according to this source ( https://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=GUID-CA6D7303-9CEA-4A10-9E29-07EBC3E309A9 ) it says that the green eye means; "Public preview features, which are features that are close to being released. These features are available to all customers."

In my understanding from watching youtube videos about this new feature, I thought that everyone would get access to this great tool, but guess I'm wrong then.

Hi,

I used this nice feature few times but since the new licencing that feature is no more available to me. I use the "free" licence....   I guess Autodesk were "quiet" about the effect of their new policies on these preview features.  Hope I have a wrong perception.

I'm also on the Personal licence, and I don't get Arrange either.

In the Design section in Preferences there is an option to enable "Arrange & Simplify features", if I tick this only Simplify shows up under Modify.  If I unselect it Simplify doesn't go away, so maybe a bug?

The 'Nest' section is still in Preferences, not that it seems to do anything...

I'm on the Personal license as well, and don't have "Arrange" in the "Modify" menu, even after following the steps jhackney1972  outlined (creating a manufacturing model and editing the component, etc.).

I'm new to Fusion wrt actually using it to drive fabricating something (in my case, CNC milling a bit of wood), so what does one do without Arrange? Just directly manipulate the component copies in the manufacturing model?

The latest update has 'Arrange' greyed out, and clicking it pops up a message saying that it's a subscription only feature.

Well, I guess that's the future for the hobbyist, no new features and existing ones gradually taken away.

There are a few nesting add-ons, the one I tried just laid the parts out end-to-end, you had to manually arrange them.   I did see a new (free) one in the store, haven't tried it yet.  I don't know how well the paid ones perform.
