Can't extrude/explode/engrave custom font text

I am doing an engraving for a client's product and he specifically requested a specific font (Green Mountain 1 if it's relevant). The problem is that Fusion doesn't allow me to do anything with it besides writing it out. I had installed the font as a .ttf but it didn't even show up in Fusion, so I transformed it into .otf, which I heard caused a common issue of not being able to extrude the text. As it stands, I am unable to extrude the text (Can't complete extrusion), explode the text (Could not retrieve the profiles of the selected text!), or select it for engraving (No contour selected to machine (even though the Contour Selection correctly indicates "2")).

I was hoping anyone could help me out with this.

Hi,

Since I don't have the font installed, I can't recognize it in the file.
You could try to draw the text in Inkscape, Ai ... and then import it as SVG (convert to paths before) into Fusion.
But even then it depends on how the font is designed and extrudable.

Hey, thanks for your reply.

However, my clients will be requesting quite a few of these engravings which will require me to edit the writing at every iteration. I feel like importing an .svg everytime might become unreliable and cumbersome in the long run. Is there some way to get around this?

clear answer: No
If the font contains elements that already prevent Fusion from realizing an extrusion, this is an indication that this can only be corrected by exploding and removing interfering elements such as self-intersections.

If you are on Windows, you can go to the Control Panel, select the Fonts folder and navigate to the particular font you are having issues with.  You can then right click on it and Copy it.  Go to a folder you desire and Paste.  You can then attach the file to a post as a zip file.  Then the Forum users can try it out and see it they can help.

I tried both font types but Fusion 360 could not find a profile from the sketch to use.  It looks like a clean font type but it does not generate a profile.  Sorry.

Neither Inkscape, Gravit Designer nor Q CAD accept the font.
In V-Carve I was able to create text.
It looks like this after the DXF import into Fusion.

I would not use the word quality here.

Don't know if Rhino is cleaning this up but the TTF font doesn't look too bad. I guess you could try getting a font editor and try cleaning it up.
