can't extrude component without selecting components beneath it

I have been having this issue, and still haven't received a solution. I am trying to make a leather wallet pattern. For every piece of the wallet, I create a new component. I have no sub components. I want to extrude the "right pocket" component, but every time I try to select it either the entire design gets selected or one of the components beneath it are selected. I cannot select just the component that I actually want to extrude. It is as if it has become part of the other components, but I am sure that it is its own component. Someone suggested that it was my order of operations, but I don't understand how that could be because all I did was create new component, draw the sketch, finish sketch, then I try to extrude and fail. I am new to Fusion, so I'm having a hard time. The first photo is the entire design, second is only the component I want to extrude, the last three show how it will only select the components beneath for extrusion instead of the actual one I want to extrude.Screenshot (6).pngScreenshot (2).pngScreenshot (3).pngScreenshot (4).pngScreenshot (5).png

Eyeballs and Activate button

You used them for the second pic,

use them to hide the clutter, and establish which component owns which sketch.

When you attach the file, we can demo with your data.

Might help....

I would like to add that I tried hiding all of the other components, then window selected just the "right pocket" component, clicked extrude, and it allowed me to just extrude that component but it pushed the "right pocket" component underneath all the other components and I built it on top of those components and never intended for it to be placed under all of the others. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I have wasted so many days trying to get past this

I don't know if it's because I have very minimal knowledge with Fusion but I don't believe any of the other components own this sketch. It seems to only be a part of the component that I intended for it to be a part of which is the "right pocket" component. I can hide each component and none of them will affect the "right pocket" component. Is this what you were insinuating or am I confused?

hi @Anonymous  please see that attached video for the solution (video file in the bottom) - while in the extrude tool - hover with the mouse in anywhere above the relevant sketch, then long press with the mouse click until it opens an options menu and select the sketch from the list - this overrides the click to select sketch that currently forces you to select an overlapping component that is higher in priority for selection - the option menu expands your selection and gives you all the geometries that are available to select behind the mouse click in that area - simply hovering over the options will show you which object/sketch/profile it is referring to

I am guessing you are trying to select the profile from the wrong side.  Take a look at the Screencast to see I select the profile from the backside and then use "From Object" to find my Extrusion start plane.  Then it is just a matter of selecting the surface you want to start from and enter the material thickness.  If you had started your sketch on the surface you wanted to extrude from and Projected your existing profile to it, then you would not have had an issue.

Not insinuating anything - just best guess with the info to date, prompting suggestions to see if it helps....

I will presume the other two movies hit the nail on the head using your data makes it - no guessing, but actual direct info.

Thank you for your help! I had finally realized that my sketch was pushed to the bottom (I have no idea why becase I sketched it in top formation) but I didn't know I could pull it back up to the top, thanks

Thank you for your time, this helps a lot. After I realized that my sketch had gotten pushed to the bottom I thought I would have to start over, but I still don't understand why my sketch keeps getting pushed to the bottom of all other components when I am in the top position when sketching (I have started this sketch over a couple times and it did this every time, but I wasn't aware it was on the bottom)
