Can't delete derived parts

First off: the new derive part feature seems very powerful and useful, I'm very excited to get into this.....

....but I found today that I could't delete a derived part after inserting it into my model Smiley Surprised

Actually that isn't quite true, the parts can be deleted from the timeline, where the link can also be broken. This can't be found through the typical workflow of right clicking on the derived part/component or use the delete command.

Finding the derived part in the timeline might be tricky in large assemblies.

Still desiring this capability. Not sure why it was ever designed for the delete function to not be there... if I can insert I should easily be able to remove without having to get on a forum to figure it out...

Also!! you cant make a component out of a derived part!!?!?! How am I supposed to easily make joints and assemble these parts? I have to literally go find a work around to delete the derived parts after copy and paste then make component from new body!! This makes no sense!!!

actually you are able to do this trough the bodies listing, just right click above the derived part and break the link. From then on, your model is now part of the drawing and is now able to be deleted

Good luck!

The proper way is edit the derive from the timeline then you can add or remove components using the derive manager.

If you select where you inserted the derived object in the timeline, you can delete it there, like this:
