Can't create closed profile with spline

Hi,

I'm trying to use a spline to create a closed profile to revolve. The profile will close with a line, but not with a spline. I’ve spent a few hours trying different things and reading threads but can’t get it to work (including making sure I’m on the right plane in the 3D sketch).

Is there something I need to click to make the spline into a closed profile? Searched this to death and found nothing.

The spline actually needs to be bigger than the example, but just focussing on a tiny point-to-point to demonstrate the issue.

Try using a planar sketch.

I can reproduce your video, but being a 3d sketch can't explain it for you.

I would not repeat sketch geometry - not an efficient technique.

I'll give it a go! Wanted to keep different things in the same sketch for various reasons, but I'll try to find a workaround for that.

Are you referring to the other sketch in the file?

If so, I didn't want to, but couldn't think of another way. I would have made a single set of geometry then patterned the feature, but the angles between the repetitions need to be parametrically editable.... couldn't see that working.

If there's another way to do it, I'd be very open to ideas 😜

I wasn't sure where  you are going with this (I didn't even look at attempting to diagnose the topic of your post).

If you can finish the design and I can find the time - I will show how I would do the same design.
