Can not delete / remove body

In the body tree is a body which I can not delete / remove. If I try to I get a 'compute failed'

Even if I set the timeline indicator in the begining of the timeline this body shows up. They are 'lost in space' :).fusion.jpg

All the rest is hidden as we are on the beginning of the timeline.

How can I delete these?

Hi @h.verouden

Thanks for posting! It certainly seems odd that the body is shown when the design timeline is pulled all the way back to the beginning - would you mind sharing the file with me? If you'd like to keep the design private, feel free to direct message me a downloadable link.

It looks like this file has not been saved yet - I wonder if saving the design or hitting the Modify > Compute All command would work out whatever error is occurring here. Please let me know if you have any questions - I am happy to help!

Hi @h.verouden

Thanks for passing the file along! I received the same problem behavior that you described - it appears that Fusion lost track of those bodies at some point. I have logged a ticket (FUS-38028) with our development team to investigate why this may have occurred. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention!

I found that, even though Body27 and Body93 are shown in the browser, I could not find them anywhere in the model. When I turned off the design timeline, they were immediately removed from the browser. My recommendation for moving forward with this design would be to turn off the visibility of Body27 and Body93 and ignore them, as they do not seem to actually be present anywhere in the design. I played around with your file a bit and the inability to delete these bodies did not seem to cause any problems if I ignored it. This will allow you to keep the design history - if you convert the design to direct modeling mode (do not capture design history), the bodies will be removed from the browser immediately, but you will lose your design history.

Please let me know if you have any questions - I am happy to help.

Hello Paul, that was exactly what I did and I had been able to continue. Hope to see them disappear in the future when you update the code. Changing to direct modeling and deleting the timeline is to rigorous for now.

Thanks,

Henk

Hi @h.verouden

Thanks for the response - I'm glad to hear that you have been able to move forward with the project! In order to further investigate how this problem occurred, could you share a copy of an earlier version of the design (when Body27 and Body93 were still valid bodies) with me? This may help the development team learn more and provide a fix for this behavior.

Unfortunately no older version. I saved it the first time when I still hoped that 'a save and reopen' would get rid of these bodies.

It happened somewhere between pattern (path) and depended parameter changing. Sometimes when changing a parameter (used in the pattern) nothing happend and I had to change the parameter to some other value and back to trigger the event. But I understand that you can not do very much with this cryptic description. I simply can't recall at what stage it happened. The best thing for you is probably to find a valuable way to force-delete things.

Regards,

Henk
