Can I view user parameters at all times?

I like to use user parameters for as much as possible, but I have a terrible memory.

At present I go to enter a dimension from the user parameters, I get the drop down but can't remember which user parameter I need.
So I cancel the operation, open the modal dialog, locate the parameter I need (In the dialog I can see the value and also how the value is constructed from other parameters so it is obvious which one I want). I then close this dialog re-do the operation, by which time I cannot remember the parameter, so I have to re open the dialog, check again (copy it to notepad if I'm sensible) and then close the dialog and go back to the operation.

Am I missing a way to keep the user parameters visible at all times? (even if they are read only?)
