Desktop performance is better, but prefer to use laptop to work on.  Use Teamviewer or Microsoft remote desktop.

I use Microsoft Remote Desktop without issue.  I also use Splashtop Remote Access which is a cheaper version of Teamviewer without issue.  With either one the main thing is to log into the remote system using the EXACT same Windows credentials that you use to run Fusion 360 when using it locally.

Thank you, that's brilliant. When you say exact credentials, do you mean the laptop name and password should be the same as the desktop's? Does this have something to do with ensuring Autodesk doesn't mistake the user as running the program twice?

the laptop credentials don't need to be the same as your desktop.

MS Remote Desktop works well. When you make the connection setup it's important to use your normal desktop's credentials when you connect.

If your desktop is at home remember to open port 3389 in your routers firewall and in the desktops firewall also.

Here is what I mean, you sit down at your local machine log in to Windows and open Fusion 360.  You close the application and log out of Windows.  You go to your remote computer log into Windows and then run Remote Desktop. At this point you have to enter your Windows login and password to gain access to the remote computer.  This login and password should be the same as you used when you logged in locally.

Fusion 360 is installed per Windows user profile so you want to use the same profile to run it remotely.  Logging into Remote Desktop with the same Windows credentials as you used locally will allow Fusion 360 to run under the same Windows profile.

Forget your two statements, they are wrong.
