Can I set my drawing to meters?

Good afternoon,

I am trying to draw a 3d buiding but after hours of work I found out I set my measurments to milimeter and not to meter. Is there a way to set it to meter without having to change all my dimensions by hand?

Greetings, Ralf.

If you are talking about model sketches, you can change the units at anytime and all the existing sketch dimensions will update automatically WITHOUT a change in actual size.

If you notice, I ask if she was working on model sketches, a lot of posters refer to model sketches as drawings so I have to ask.  I am aware of the 2D drawing unit limitations.

I mean I forgot to set my scale to meters, so I have been drawing a house in mm and not in meters. If I set it to meters in the dimensions tab it recalculates the mm to meters. But the amount of mm should be the amount in meters.

Again, if you are talking about a model sketch, you can change the units at anytime.  Start a new file, sketch a 500mm square, dimension it, then change the units to meters as see what happens to the millimeter dimensions.  You will understand then.  You keep referring to your drawing, everything I am talking about ONLY works in the model sketch.

You are correct, it is in sketching mode.

I tried, but when I change the units from mm to m, it changes from 500mm to 0.5m. The thing I want is that it changes to 500m.

Thinking about it, I should have asked: ccan I cange the units without changing the numbers. The dimensions will change then by a 1000, I understand.

Now that we both understand what you desire, you have to make a decision.  If you are still in the model sketching stage of your design, you can use the Sketch Scale command.  Take a look at the Screencast and see how I scaled a 10" x 10" sketch of a square and scaled it up 10 times.  If you are still not in the sketching phase and you are into the solid modeling stage, you probably want to use the Scale command under Modify shown below.  Remember, my Screencast is showing you how to use the Sketch Scale command in the model sketching environment.  Your scale factor will be 1000 since you are going from millimeters to meters.  A word of caution, this is a radical change in your sketch, be prepared.  The 'Screencast has no sound.

Forgot to attach the screen capture of the Modeling Scale command.
