Can Fusion360 be made to "auto figure itself out" re. server verification?

I'm not sure if this is due to corporate-ware or what, but I regularly resume from suspend (I've also wondered if it's related to toggling on or off VPN within a session) and arrive at Fusion360 (open the whole time) and this message:

I used to click Trust Anyway, but have found if I click Cancel it might briefly say it's in offline mode, but then it figures itself out anyway. This leads me to believe if it just "tried again/harder," it could figure itself out and then when I alt+tab to work on it, I wouldn't have to make this extra click.

Is that possible? It's a very minor nuisance ultimately... but it's so regular and of course the smallest nuisances are the ones that are the most fun to gripe about 😂

Thanks for asking. I have to ask another team of developers why you might see this repeatedly. If anything, at least we can find out the reason this might appear, since it seems to be important, but to my eyes needs a little context to help you.

I'm not sure why I see it, either, but tried to lay that out in the post. Being more explicit:

  • resume from suspend: something about how Fusion360 first tries to contact the server when it doesn't have internet yet
  • toggling VPN: something about when the route to its server changes
  • corporate bloatware: who knows what all is on the laptop mucking with what Fusion360 expects. For example, I regularly go to check a hardware store for a price and my location is e.g. in Canada or Illinois (I'm in MN)

I feel by even mentioning the third one, it's going to be tempting to say "yeah, probably that." Can we start simple: what is the expected behavior when resuming from suspend before wifi is established?

Good question. My only experience in this area is to wait a few seconds while wifi is connected. Fusion briefly shows that it's "working offline" since it has no internet connection.

Ok, that's helpful. Yeah, I wouldn't mind that, it's the popup sitting there that's the slight nuisance.

Idea... I have Fusion360 on my wife's computer as well, which isn't associated with any corporate stuff. Let me fire that up over the weekend and try some suspend/resume cycles. If I can't get this behavior, maybe that would be the trigger to chalk this up to whatever they are doing re. network controls? And I certainly don't expect Autodesk to accommodate what I'm sure is a ridiculous number of permutations with respect to how companies handle that.

Maybe the intermediate/consumer inquiry would be e.g.: if I were using something like Nord VPN (just thinking of what I always see advertised) and then turned it off, what would Fusion do? I don't use VPN outside of work, but that's probably a more reasonable general case.

How does that sound?
