Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to this software, so I apologize in advance if I'm overlooking something really rudimentary. I'm using Fusion 360 to design a project for 3D printing. The whole project will have some... unique geometry, such as circles emanating unevenly from a central point and such. I made the prototype in TinkerCAD and am trying to "convert" it to 360.

I'm just trying to make a simple geometry for an extrusion, but 360 won't recognize it as a shape, so it can't be mirrored or moved. I have used the dimension tool to give it constraints, but it still won't complete the geometry. If I try to add any other constraints, I get a warning/error that the object is then over-constrained. Also, I can't extrude the object while editing.

I'm attaching a screenshot for reference. I have already spent over an hour looking online and watching YouTube videos, but I'm not really finding anything relative to my issue. Thanks again and I really appreciate the assistance.

Hi,

1. please share the design
2. explain from which sketch you want to create an extrusion
3. show a picture of a real existing object what is to be created in the end

1. Here is the link to the share - I'm using the personal version, so I can't allow downloading:

https://a360.co/3naYXfO

2. I'm trying to make the light blue shape in the screenshot into an object to use for mirroring and extrusion.

3. I can't share a picture of a real object as this object does not exist, I'm trying to create it for this project. It's only purpose is to extrude/cutout a window into the Pyramid sides and won't be actually printed on it's own.

Thanks a bunch for the response.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Attach your TinkerCAD file too.

Hi,

Although I could not view the file I will try this screencast.

Maybe this is what you are looking for.

Apologies, I'm still getting the hang of this. I have attached the file below. Thanks!

This is definitely the concept, only the cutout is not a straight forward polygon and that seems to be what is happening. I've been doing more reading/searching and it appears that I may have to use sculpting to get shape. I have attached the project file to the thread. Thanks again!

That's it! Without pushing my luck, is there anyway to show me how you did that?
