CAM simulation progress bar obscured

When simulating a CAM operation , The progress bar at the bottom has a black slider bar that you can click on and drag to advance or place the operation at a particular point. Well, for several months now , the grey popup description box covers the black slider leaving it obscured and mostly useless. please correct this as the progress bar is very handy for walking through certain areas of operations.

Thank You

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you clarify which description box you're talking about? Can you post a screenshot here of what you're seeing?

One screenshot is without mouse hover, and one is the obscured view when trying to adjust timeline.Fusion360Cam.pngFusion360CamWithoutMouse hover.png

Hi @Anonymous

I see. When I played around with this, I found that this happens when you have the text commands open or if the Fusion window is not at the bottom of the screen.

This functionality is correct when you remove the text commands window (file > view > hide text commands) and the Fusion window is fullscreen.

I don't think this is the intended behavior. This has been logged as CAM-13076. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Thank You for looking into this. I use the CAM portion of Fusion 360 for several parts a day. Eradicating nuisances like this makes my work-flow much less annoying. Smiley Happy

For me, this has nothing to do with showing the text commands or the window being on the bottom of the screen. I have been fighting this for quite a while.  Once the pop-up displays, if I move the mouse horizontally off it, I can grab the simulation timeline and scroll, just not where it is normally grabbed, which is hidden under the pop-up.  Pretty crappy work-around but at least I can manually sequence the simulation.

Kept expecting it to be fixed.

Hi @OFGLLC

Can you clarify what conditions you see this happen? I am only able to force the hovering/flickering when the window is undocked or the text commands are open.

I have added your comments to the internal ticket.

Cheers,

Karina

Perhaps we have overlapping issues based upon the ticket description.  My problem is that the progress bar is obscured by the operation information pop-up.

Normal simulation:  Select setup or operation and then press the simulation button.  Attempt to take mouse pointer to progress bar to drag the progress indicator to the critical points I want to look at but the progress position indicator that I would normally drag is immediately obscured by the pop-up that displays operation information like run time, etc.  The top of these pop-ups is always level with the top of the progress bar.  If it was just under it, it would not be a problem.  Started happening some months ago.

Alternatively, if I can disable the pop-up's that would be fine but I never turned anything on.  The information is valuable but not the only place to see it.

Hi @OFGLLC

Thanks for the reply - can you post a screenshot of your screen? I'm looking for some more information on the environment that causes this to happen. What is your OS? Mac or PC? Are you seeing this when Fusion is full screen? Do you have the text command bar open?

Thanks,

Karina

Hi Karina.

I won't be able to reply again this week as I have a deadline.  This should help though.

The problem is compounded because my shop monitor took a hit and the bottom two inches don't display properly.  My office machine monitor is fine so I played with it there.  Both are MAC-OS.  I do not normally operate with the text box open but it doesn't matter.

The pop-up appears in one of two positions and is a good interface feature.  One is above the progress bar and the other should be below it, but is over it (you can see the progress bar to the sides in green).

AboveAboveBelowBelow

Because I can not use the lower couple of inches of the shop display, I can only use the "below" version, which has the positional error of being over the progress bar instead of just under it.  Otherwise, I could drag the screen to a position low enough to display over it.  (No, I can not use full screen on that computer, but I never do on any of them because they are 32 inch displays and I have a lot going on.)

Hope that helps,

jeff

Hi @OFGLLC

Thanks for the clarification. It looks like this is the same issue. I won't make any changes to the ticket, but your input helps get attention to the issue.

Cheers,

Karina
