I'm not sure why thin extrude is less stable than regular extrude when going to objects. but it is.
If someone can explain to me why this command fails i'd like that.
extrude 1 is an extrude of a polygon with a negative taper angle.
extrude 2 is a thin extrude of a line with extent set to to object and the object being the top of extrude 1, and a offset from the sketch profile.
the error message fusion 360 gives is a lie, you can make a offset plane with 0 offset from the top of extrude 1, and try to replace the selected object to extrude to with this new offset plane. and fusion will still tell you "the extrusion profile falls outside the boundary of the selected body" even though you are telling it to extrude to a construction plane.
I've included the file where this happened to me. it happens a lot when using thin extrude tbh.
