Happens to me too, been reported before,

slow down - the software is quicker than both of us, and click move is seeing another click, for the end point of a short unwanted segment.

Start wait go, works, but I still get the error when I forget to wait.

Might help...

Like @davebYYPCU says, slow down. Moving the mouse in mid click, even if slightly will make a line when the click is finished. The software is designed that way so that, if wanted, you can left click and hold to draw the first line and go right to a second line when you finish the click. You can also draw an arc as a second line if you left click and hold at the end of the first line. I guess if you had to sketch repetitive objects it would dome in handy but I have rarely used the function.
