I have a bug happening when deriving objects to new design.
If I click derive to new design usually the new design will pop in a new tab, what happens now is nothing happens until I quit fusion and close the currently opened tabs only then will the new design will appear.
I just tried a quick test of this and am not seeing the issue. Can you please confirm your build number and OS? Glad to look into what you are seeing.
well now i'm trying to replicate the problem and it stopped behaving that way, so I guess that's good. If it acts up again I will try and record it and post it to this thread.
ok so now it's started up again I attached a video of the situation.
Not sure know if its easy to follow but what you see is that I derive the component and then a new tab doesn't open with the new design. I close all the open designs and still nothing, and then at the very end I do Cmd Q to quit fusion and suddenly the new design pops up.
Thanks for taking the time to record this. I've sent it to the team that works on Derive to confirm if it's a known issue.
Do you think it happens only when you have enough open documents to fill up the dropdown list?
testing now and it looks like it happens even with only one tab open.
EDIT, after testing some more I realized that this problem is actually only happening when deriving objects from that one specific design, so not sure exactly what is going on with it.
Can you share a link for that design with me? You can send it in a private message.
Thanks for providing a file. Unfortunately I can't repro the issue on either Mac or windows, with your data or my own. Please let me know if this continues, or happens with other designs. Sorry I don't have a better response at this time.
Hello, I've just encountered the exact same issue when trying to create a derive into a new design. see attached a screen grab of the flow. this is happening exactly as the OP described. I tried it out for the first time after Autodesk posted the video tip on derived object on YT. running on windows 11 with later version of Fusion.
thanks for your support!
