BUG Setting Material Prefernce Units not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has noticed that no matter what Units we set in the Preferences -> Default Units, in the Material Browser all the units show up in SI.

I have set in the "Preferences -> Default Units -> Simulation -> English."  Thus, I should be able to view English Units in the Material Browser.

When I go to "SIMULATION -> MATERIAL -> Manage Physical Materials" and I select a material all the properties show up in SI units.

When I  Edit or Enter a new Material Property value in the "Material Browser" in English units it converts to SI.

Smiley Surprised However, if I go to "MATERIAL -> Material Properties", the "Material Properties" window does show the Material properties in the correct units (English), what I set as my Preference. Smiley Happy

I believe this is a BUG from the last release.  If I'm at err, please let me know

Thanks,
IK

Hi Ahreum,

Thanks for your prompt reply and reporting this issue to the development team.

However, here is the solution.

In the Preferences -> Unit and Value Display on the right side of the screen the last selection box is for "Material Unit Display" drop box. That is where you select the Units

I'm glad it was not a BUG and the Solution was found.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @Anonymous,

I received the comment from developer. I think I was confused as well. Smiley Embarassed

We're behaving as-designed. The Sim units control in the user preferences only applies to new studies, not the active one.

To change the sim units in an existing study, it can be done via the unit settings in the study browser.

Hopefully, it will help.

If you have further questions, please let me know.

Many thanks,

Ahreum.
