No problem.  Here's the history of this issue:-

1. In the old days, I think it used to work fine.

2. Some time ago (last year) it started giving those HTML errors, but simply clicking post a second time made it all work fine.

3. Recently (as of a few months ago) it started behaving intermittently - sometimes posting the screencast, but other times posting blank where the screencast should have gone.

4. And finally today - always a blank.

I do not use an ad blocker.  I tried yesterday with Chrome (Mac) and Firefox (Mac).  In the past, I've also tried Safari (Mac) and Chrome (Windows) and Internet Explorer (Windows).  It's the same for me on all those browsers, so it does appear to be a forum-software problem.  I can help test this more if you like.

This (now) is Chrome on Mac. I inserted a screencast below this line:-

My original post was using Firefox on Mac.

This here is another screencast insert - this time using Safari on Mac:

FYI - I only see blanks above, no screencasts show up.  Here's a photo of what I can see on my screen:-

I am getting that same red "bad HTML" text as well. Hence, no screencast is inserted.

Try using the HTML command located in the above tool menu.  Make sure you post the code on a completely empty line and it usually works just fine.  Here is the original posters Screencast.

Hi John,

Again and again you and others give the impression that there is a solution.
But the problem still exists, is known, is supposed to be in the works but there is still no solution for more than 2 years.

Using the HTML command method, I have posted countless Screencasts without issue.  I agree the Insert Screencast icon normally will not work but the other method works without issue as you can see.

Same here, but that also fails for a number of users. Quite frustrating!

How am I supposed to use that HTML command? What HTML should I insert there?

2 years ago, Autodesk employees tried to integrate screencasts from my account into posts using the methods you described.
They could only tell me that they failed and got the same error messages as I did.
I posted this message several times in different forums.

@g-andresen Yep, I know that this also affects other users. I generally appreciate having this forum platform and applaud Autodesk for hosting this forum.

However, the software and service for the forum platform is one of the more disappointing things. Aside from this ongoing screencast issue that has persisted for much longer than 2 years, changes to the forum software that seemingly are aimed at improving the user experience, almost always break essential functionality. These changes also are always unannounced. In any serious business environment, that behavior would be completely unacceptable.

I find it hard to believe that one of the planets most successful software companies is not able to provide a fully functional and seamless forum experience!

When you create a screencast using the Autodesk Screencast software, you'll receive an email with a link when the screencast is ready to be viewed. For example:

TrippyLighting_0-1638274157281.png

When you follow that link you'll see a web page with the screencast. It has an "embed" button:

TrippyLighting_1-1638274258753.png

Click it and copy  the HTML code into the clipboard.

TrippyLighting_0-1638274606084.png

Then  go back  to edit your forum post and click on the HTML button:

TrippyLighting_2-1638274396049.png

Paste the HTML code from clipboard into the Source Code window and accept with OK.

TrippyLighting_3-1638274503039.png

Then the screencast should appear in the post.
This also works with YouTube videos.
