Bug: Partly threading cylinder changes diameter in whole lenght

I am used to using the threading tool for threading only part of the cylinder.
Today notices, that making a thread on an 8mm cylinder changes diameter not only in the threaded part but also in all length of the cylinder.
Solved this by splitting face I two at the point I want to end the thread.
This seems odd behaviour because it makes offsetting threads useless for precision CNC parts and parts in general

Added screenshot of the cylinder with only threading tool and with splitting the face.

Be careful this can mess your part!

yes, you are correct - adding a thread to a cylinder will affect the entire cylinder.  Thread does not attempt to split the cylinder.  You can split the cylinder face yourself using Split Face.

Is there an intention to fix this?
because it is really annoying for internal blind threads because there you need to have a drill hole deeper than the thread itself by DIN 76-1
distance e1 here: 3.2.2. Thread Runouts for ISO Metric Threads and Minimum Screw-In Depth (larsniemdik.gitlab.io)

splitting face or making another hole from the top plane is really time-consuming.

Thanks!

Yes, this is really annoying, splitting the shaft adds three items to the time line (construction plane or sketch, split body and combine) for each thread op, and wastes time, particularly when I return to edit sometime later and can't work out why I did that.

Combine?

Can you attach example?

Sorry, I've been using split body, just realised I can use split face so
don't need to re-combine.
