Hi Fusion 360 Support,
When I move my mouse (with middle button pressed) across the screen in a straight line, I expect (want) the part to rotate about the axis on the screen plane (perpendicular to my vision), not the axis of the part itself (which could be in any direction). As such, I use Free Orbit in the settings, and not Constrained Orbit.
The issue I have is when opening a part, the motion seems to be in the Constrained Orbit mode, until I toggle back and forth between the two modes for it to behave in Free Orbit mode.
I attached a Screencast to show the issue.
Thank you,
Andre
Hi @DreBz,
Thank you for posting in the forum! Are you also seeing the issue when you create a new design?
Does it make a difference if you switch to Free Orbit at the bottom of the screen and save the file, and then re-open the file?
Hi Masanobu,
I tried the following:
- Opened my test part, toggled back and forth the orbit mode using the button at the bottom of the screen, until the part was behaving in free orbit mode, then saved it, closed Fusion 360, reopened it and reopened the test part. After reopening the part, I still needed to toggle back and forth the orbit modes at the bottom of the screen to make it behave in Free Orbit.
So, still seeing the issue there.
- After making my test part behave in Free Orbit (after toggling back and forth the orbit setting), I created a new design, and made a simple shape. When I tried moving the part around, it was behaving in Constrained Orbit mode.
So, still seeing the issue in this case.
I uploaded two screencasts showing your requests.
Thanks,
Andre
