BUG: Main Canvas loses focus when browser is selected

On Windows, the title bar of active windows is a different color than inactive windows. On Windows 10, the way I have my color theme configured, the active window gets a blue title bar, while inactive windows get a dull gray title bar.

When I'm working in Fusion 360, if I click a toolbar button, or an item in the browser, the main window toolbar changes to gray, meaning the main window is no longer the active window. It's as if the browser and the toolbar were separate windows. Ideally, the main window should remain active when clicking other parts of the application.

This was previously acknowleged as a bug in THIS post and was reportedly fixed?  I am having this same problem in version 2.0.11894. It does affect me greatly, because If I select a body from the browser and try to zoom in on it with the mouse wheel in the canvas, it does nothing. I have to select the canvas window or canvas (and possibly deselect my body) when I want to zoom, pan, or rotate. It is not very workable. I did not have this problem previously, but it cropped up in the last few versions and has persisted.  Thanks for the excelllent 3d design program.

Hi,

The problem may have been reported but I don't see any mention of a fix. I also don't think this is a widespread problem because if every customer was unable to zoom and pan after making a selection from the browser there would be more reports of it since the post you linked, which is years old.

Can you check your windows setting for "Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them" please? It should be enabled.

Thanks,

Thaks, Phil. That seems to have fixed my problem. Is it expected for the bar on the Fusion 360 window to go active when you click on a object in the browser? Do you see that? If not, this seems like a workaround for real Fusion bug. BTW: the setting in Windoze 10 is: "Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them".

I corrected the name to what you pointed out, thanks for that.

And yes I see the title bar go inactive when I select an object in the browser. It's not a bug, it's by design and it has to do with how the Fusion UI is built. Fusion is several windows, and the browser is one of those windows.

Since you consider it a bug, can you tell me what the impact is for you? I don't ever see complaints about it and I'm wondering what the negative impact to you might be.
