BUG: Fusion Simulation results display

If a simulation study is solved more than once, the result field (Safety Factor, Stress, Displacement, Reaction Force, Strain, Contact Force) that was displayed last does not display correctly when viewing the next solution results. The component is displayed in all blue, but only for that result field. All of the other result fields display correctly.

I have been working around this bug by displaying a field that is not of interest before selecting FINISH RESULTS.

Hi @Neil_Roberts,

I'm trying to reproduce the problem, but so far I'm unsuccessful. Are these the exact steps to reproduce the issue from scratch?

  1. Create a new design > Create a box body
  2. Go the the Simulation workspace > New static stress study
  3. Add a fixed constraint on one face
  4. Add a Prescribed Displacement (10mm) to the opposite face to act as a tensile load > Solve
  5. The Results workspace is shown with Safety Factor result type displayed
  6. Change the result type to Displacement > The maximum displacement is shown as 10mm
  7. Return to the Setup workspace > Edit the Prescribed Displacement > change the value to 20mm > Solve
  8. The Results workspace is shown with the Displacement result type active > The maximum displacement is shown as 20mm

In step 8 you're seeing the result contours display in a solid blue color, instead of showing the transition from blue to red?

Thanks for looking in to this.

The issue comes after selecting FINISH RESULTS, making a change to the
model or simulation, and solving the simulation again. Then the result
field that was shown last after the previous solve (for example Stress) is
displayed in all blue.

I must be missing a key step.

In step 7, using 'FINISH RESULTS' as the way to 'Return to the Setup workspace' still cannot reproduce the behavior on my machine. I've also tried using Stress as the active result type.

I've asked my QA counterpart if they can reproduce the issue.

Hi @Neil_Roberts,

I tried to reproduce the issue you faced but to no avail. It is not clear at this point what might be causing it. Usually the first step we would recommend in those types of issues is to update your graphics card drivers:

  1. Visit your graphics cards (for example, Nvidia or AMD) website to obtain the latest driver that is compatible with your computer.
  2. After installing a driver, it is recommended to restart your machine before trying to view the results of a Simulation.

Additionally, it would help us a lot if you could attach a screenshot of the issue in this thread, as well as a memory dump:

  1. Launch Fusion.
  2. Launch Task Manager.
  3. Go to Processes.
  4. Expand the Fusion App item dropdown from the Processes list.
  5. RMB on Autodesk Fusion.
  6. Create memory dump file.

Thank you for reporting the issue.
