Bug: Extrude operation shows opposite preview of the actual operation

When I extrude upwards in the screencast, shortening the knob, it will actually be extended in the final operation. When I extrude downward extending the knob, it will actually be shortened in the final operation. I.e, the preview is always opposite of the actual operation.

The problem also occurred during the first extrude, not only now when editing the extrude as shown in the screencast.

I'm using verison 2.0.14337.

Attached is the file where the problem appears.

Edit: Seems there's a problem with inserting screencasts. Like in my previous bug report I again get the error "Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body". This time I added the link immediately, and not while editing the post. Hope you can find the screencast from my profile.

Edit2: Trying to insert the screencast URL directly here instead of using "Paste a screencast URL" (which displayed correctly while editing but failed when clicking "Post"):

Hi,

1. I was able to create the extrusion (EXTRUDE NEW) according to the rules. The old extrusion (incl. following features) was suppressed.
2. the screencast tool was unfortunately, regarding upload incl. embedding, not usable.
AD has discontinued it.

Thanks for checking it out.

I'm not sure if I understood, are you saying you can reproduce the bug or not? If not, I will post a new screencast without the following history, since I realize that made my original screencast is a little confusing with the following history.

Regarding the screencast posting, Autodesk has not yet discontinued the screencast software. "Today we’re announcing that we’ll cease supporting Autodesk Screencast on January 31, 2023. " Maybe I missed it, but I don't see any mention that embedding screencasts has already been discontinued. If I missed it, then I'd appreciate a direct quote of that.

Anyway, if embedding screencasts is not supposed to work now, then it should be removed from the forums, as I spent quite some time trying to understand if I did something wrong, and it was slightly frustrating.

But let's not get off topic with screencasts in this thread (I'll start another one that), and focus on the extrude bug instead. I've never seen this behavior before, and I've done probably hundreds of designs in Fusion 360 (as a hobbyist).

Here's an updated clearer screencast, where I only do the extruding in the direction I wanted, but it goes in the other direction. The operations after this are suppressed to make it more obvious.

The issue is maybe in just that file, since I was not able to reproduce it by copying the design and redoing the original extrusion. I however want to point out, that this issue happened the very first time I did that extrusion, not only when editing it like it's shown in the screencast.

Your file produced same video behaviour when I checked it.  Did not experiment, any further.

Hi,

1. I have written and implemented in the attached file that I could successfully perform the extrusion operation "New Extrude" before yours (Extrude 3). Therefore I assume that the error occurs only in the suppressed feature.
2. For some years now, embedding screencasts with the integrated tool is only possible for a few 'users. However, for me and numerous others, all attempts to embed screencasts fail.

I want to stress again, that the bug occurred when I did the initial extrusion and there were no features after that, regardless if you are unable reproduce it now with a new extrusion before the failing one. So it is not any of the suppressed features that originally caused/causes it.

Hi,

Only this: if I go back in the timeline and edit Extrusion 1, it is done without errors.
I would start a new design and observe if the behavior occurs again.

I'm pretty sure I won't be able to repeat it by starting again, as the design is very simple and the operation basic and it has never happened elsewhere. I'll leave it to Autodesk to test. They should have enough info to fix it if they want to, since apparently the issue can be repeated with the file I provided (i.e, it does not happen only on my computer).
