Bug: Emboss bug easily reproduced

I am testing fonts for embossing and found this weird bug. See attached video for the error. If you try to emboss Cooper Black in BOLD (very important you select this) you get an error "Sketch Profile creates a self-intersecting body". Removing bold and it works fine. Other fonts I've tried don't have this issue (Arial Black Bold, Verdana Bold)

Hi,

1. try extrude / cut instead of Emboss

2. For embossing you have to convert the font to paths with Right Click > Explode.

I can try as a workaround but has nothing to do with the bug. Also found same bug with font OCR A 10 BT

I have to say the workaround works and is much more elegant than using emboss. I can do the operation in one action. Instead of doing an emboss cut and then pulling back up the letters to make another colour as bodies. I can now do an Extrude creating a new component and all the text is converted in one go. So big thanks.

Hi,

Because fonts are created for graphic applications (2 D), no attention is paid to the fact that they are also used for extrusions (3D) in CAD applications, for example.
This leads to the fact that the contours of some fonts are strongly segmented, which leads to self-intersections in extrusions (especially conical).
Unfortunately, there are numerous fonts that have this deficiency.
In general, however, OTF fonts are more advantageous than TTF for fusion.
