Bug: Cycle Component Color for imported part doesn't update viewport

Hi,

I've imported 2 different parts multiple times. Now I turned on "Display Component Colors". All of the linked parts have the same color.

When I now select all of them, right click and choose "Cycle Color Component", in the browser all the same imported parts have now the same color, but in the viewport they have all different colors (first image).

If I move these parts into a component or from a component to the root of the document, now the viewport updates and shows all the same parts in the same color.

I think this is an update issue of some kind, tested on Windows 10, Fusion 360 Version 2.0.15050 (x86_64).

Cheers from Germany,

Tobi

Good day @Jemxx,

What happens when you change the component color?

Does all the relevant components update as intended?

Hi @P-BvanWyk,

sadly they don't. The color indicator in the browser adapts as intended, but the viewport doesn't. I've tried a few different things, see the attached gif.

Thank you for the speedy reply,

This definitely seems to be a bug.

I see you are using linked components, do the component's colors work as intended in the original file?

Yes, when I break the link of all components the component's colors works as expected (they are all different in the browser and also update the viewport accordingly).

Then I need to wait until this gets fixed, because ideally I want components to get the same color (for easier identification).

Thank you for the additional information 😁

I'm sure this will narrow down the search for the development team.

Any updates? The issue still persists, and I can't continue working on my project.

It would be nice if someone official could at least acknowledge this issue...
