Browser Keeps Disappearing When I Click on another Window and Return to Fusion 360

I'm running Fusion 360 on an Apple MacBook Pro.

For the past 2 weeks, Whenever I click on another Window in another app and then return to Fusion 360 and click on

an open space in the project window, my Browser disappears. I have to click on "View/Hide Browser" and then "View/Show Browser" in order to get it to reappear. I snap it to the left side of the project window but it still disappears doing the above steps.

Then I go through this same loop over and over.

Does anybody have a solution?

Thanks,

Gary

Hi @emailgaryw

Thanks for posting.

Perform one of the following to bring back the Browser:

  • If the View menu shows "Hide Browser", this means that the browser is already somewhere on the screen. In this case, click the double arrow to expand the browser or reconnect the dialog to the Fusion interface by dragging it to the left until a green line appears.

This has been an ongoing problem for a long time with few users and an internal ticket has been raised with the development team. Here is the ticket number for your reference - FUS-101728.

If the issue still persists after trying the above solution, Close all the spaces except F360 and try working on Fusion 360 to avoid disappearing from the Fusion browser tree.

Hello Pramod,

I finally discovered, about 5 minutes ago, what was causing the problem.
It’s when you have multiple desktops open on a Mac. When you click on an app icon ,
the screen switches to the desktop that contains that app. If Fusion 360 app is located
on a different desktop and you switch back to it , then the Browser “floats” out of view
and you have to go through the steps of “View/hide browser” and then “View/show browser”.

Once I reduced my desktops down to 1 and only 1 desktop where all my open apps are stacked
on each other, then my Fusion 360 app Browser remained locked on my project window!

Hope this helps resolve the bug fix which will have to deal with when multiple desktops on a mac
are active.

Thanks Pramod for your quick response.
