Browser disappearing when working on second monitor.

Am currently making a BOM list, whenever I go onto excell open on my second monitor the browser tree disappears from the fusion screen on the first monitor, is there a way to keep it visible? Had a look around the settings/preferences, but couldn't find anything.

Thank you.

@Reno_Raines01 are you perchance working on macOS? Could you tell me more about your device, OS version, monitor layout, and perhaps provide a screenshot or recording?

Hello,

yes using an older 2012 macbook running high Sierra.

Screencast attached, hard to replicate since when I leave the fusion screen to go to excell the screencast also switches after a couple of seconds. 8 seconds in the screencast I leave the fusion screen and click in the excell screen, you see the BOM list disappear from the fusion screen.

@Reno_Raines01 ah, that's what I thought it might be.

This is a quirk of macOS and how their window system handles what some call tools or palettes. These are minor windows owned by the parent application - examples include open dialogues (save/open), photo editing tools or color pickers, or just floating windows within another window, such as Fusion 360's component browser and other command windows.

Long story, short: macOS hides tools when a given application window is inactive, to reduce clutter. There is no way to change this behavior, short of making tools not considered tools from a code standpoint, but that can introduce more problems than it solves.

Good news: We are slowly chipping away at this issue, and there should be some improvements for the Viewing Tools and a few other areas of the UI coming soon. No ETA for browser or command dialogues, but they are part of the discussion, too!
