Boring a tapered hole.

I want to Create a 1/4 NPT tapered hole without threads. I will later use an NPT tap. The material is hard and I plan to use the Radial feature to cut the tapered hole to minimize the amount of cutting by the tap. How does one create the tapered hole? Hole feature only allows threaded tapered holes.

Hi @ian1196,

The hole that is created by the Hole feature is a hole without the thread.

You can only create a modeled thread with straight holes.

So the diameter of the cone is good for milling and can later be Tapped.

I added an NPT tapered hole and there are threads as shown. Maybe I was not clear. See CAD

Are you referring to the cosmetic thread that's applied to the taper? If you create a drawing from your model the thread doesn't show and you can dimension it as if it's a plain tapered hole.
