Hi, sorry if this isn't the correct board. I didn't know which one it would go under. I am working on designing a sign off of an SVG. Extruded the base of the sign to create a body. But when I do a second extrusion to raise the walls/edges of this sign and try to join the two I get errors. Something about a coincidence previously not being a coincidence. And when I extrude that second extrusion by itself it work. But when I try to combine them it says general modeling error. Confused as to why it is doing this when a sign I previously made for my nephews worked just fine using the same process.

For the second extrude, go 2 directions, one to create clear overlap into first body.  This will allow Join operation as a bonus.

Might help.

Hi,

Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d on local drive  > attach it to the next post

Sorry it took so long to respond, I had work. No time to play with my design/ printer lol. I attached the f3d file, hopefully i did that correctly. I have the two bodies I'm trying to combine extruded, just not combined.

I can't tell you what Fusion doesn't like but if you extrude the image first and then the solid back second, the extrude joins.

'Why the 2nd extrude does not join to the 1st extrude, is unknown, other than imported sketches don't play well in Fusion.

@jeff_strater may be interested in this one.....

I tried it again and it didn't let me extrude it until that bottom piece was a negative extrusion
