Blurry text on High DPI display

Hey there!

Some updates ago, Fusion360 worked very well on my 4k resolution display and I had a crisp and clear visualization of text and symbols. To achieve this I applied following hint: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Adj...

With the current version out (2.0.3133), I can not get a clear, not blurry, GUI. Btw, Fusion runs in an Windows 10 environment, Version 1703, Build 15063.332

I hope someone can help, because it degrades the usability and hurts my eyes ;)!

Thank you!

Unfortunately, using the Windows compatibility options results in other pieces of the UI being incredibly small.

I'm really surprised it's been years and this still hasn't been addressed - 4k screens are the norm for design work now.

True!
They keep adding new features but this is something really basic that should be prioritized. 4K is the standard now if you buy a new screen. And Fusion 360 can´t be used on 4K screens.

For quite a while now, I haven't had any problems with blurry fonts, symbols or lines.
Try to change Fusion's Compatibility settings like in the attached screenshot. I tried to remove the tick on the "Override high DPI..." option and Fusion got blurry again. Which leads me to believe that changing the settings as mentioned should help.

your solution above might be working on small display, mine is 4k 27" and icon, text, lines become super tiny to my old eyes!

yes I have all graphic drivers and windows 10 updated.

I wish inventor has mesh to solid feature so I can't be stuck with ****ty fusion display

Sorry, I didn't mention that I have a 4K Display (ViewSonic VG2860MHL-4K)

But I thought that was clear as I started the thread...

Display Settings in Windows 10:

Resolution 3840x2160
Scale 125%

Could you post a Screenshot of how your fusion visualization looks like?

The interface of Fusion 360 can handle scaling to 125% without any problems. But the problem is that for me and others this is way to small on a 4K screen.

I made 3 screenshots in 100, 125 and 150% scaling. For me it seems that the gui of fusion is doing everything right. Can you confirm that you experience the similar results?

4K needs 200% to be like HD 100% and 250% to be like HD 125%.

I am new to Fusion 360, coming from Solidworks and really interested in learning more about the program. I have installed it on my Lenovo P1 laptop, which has a 4k display. Unfortunately Fusion looks blurry when scaled but I can read the icons. I tried the application specific scaling switch that most have been using as a fix... it makes the graphics sharper but icons are so small and unreadable.  Does anyone know a fix for this?? It seems like this issue has been going on for 3+ years. Solidworks had the same issue but has fixed it by adding an HD graphics setting.

Since recently (at least in 2.0.9937 it is avaliable), developers added the preview feature HighDPIScalling that I recomment to try. It's not ideal, because the icons still blurry, but at least text is ok. (See screenshot)

Hi, Just in case if anyone is getting the same blurring issue. I'm using my desktop with 150% scaling (which is default for my DELL INSPIRION 1300 series).  I've got the issue fixed by clicking right button on the program icon -> Properties -> Compatibility  -> Change high DPI settings -> Override high DPI scaling behavior. I've selected 'Application' from the dropdown. Restarted the app and everything shows not blurred anymore, but icons inside the app are quite small. So that is up to you if you would like to use it this way.

Preferences > Preview Features > HighDPIScalling is the cure, for me even icons look ok (not blurred) anymore. But I just recently downloaded and installed Fusion 360, perhaps they fixed this blurring issue in the most recent version already.

I also encounter the same issue with windows 11 and 4k display at 150 % scaling. I ended up with HighDPIScalling and scaling override settings enabled.

Settings screenshot:

With this settings canvas is properly rendered and text is mainly scaled and crisp, no icons are scaled. But only text is scaled, not the space for the text, so with scaling factor higher than 150 % text does not fits to the dedicated space. It is so lucky for me that I use only 150 % scaling.

Text in data panel and all its context menus is not scaled. Navigation bar is not scaled, as any other icons but I find it especially tiny and hard to hit, see how it should look at 150 scaling and how it actually looks.

I could work with that, but these settings are cause eye strain after couple of hours and now I am happy that I use Fusion 360 only few hours per month.

I also fing it very frustrating that this very essential issue is not solved in 5 years.

UPD: To see, how this (and all others from posts above) screenshots actually looks, you have to set your display scaling to 100 % or save this images and open it with a viewer or editor that could display images at 100 % scale. In paint it displayed correctly.

It´s so bad that this issue hasn´t been fixed yet. Autodesk has this vision of Fusion 360 being a package including all imaginable CAD functions. So they keep adding new functionality instead of making sure the very basics work well.
I stopped using Fusion a couple of years ago because of this. When the picture is fuzzy the eyes keep trying to focus to get a sharp picture. I planned to get back to using Fusion again now feeling sure that by now it should have been fixed... But no... The UI still looks horrible.

2023 here and still no solution to this? I can't see the icons with hidpi preview enabled and it's all blurry with default settings. It is unusable for any serious work.
