Big Sur and Sketches

Upgraded to Big Sur and the latest 360 update, now when I create a sketch and hit "finish sketch" I get the color wheel of death and 360 crashes. Even when just making a circle or rectangle.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about this. Here is what I'm finding:

1. This is not Big Sur related, your crashes going back to September of 2020 (using Catalina) are identical to your recent crashes.

2. Nearly every one of your many crashes is this exact problem.

These factors indicate only a few possibilities.

1. Your design workflow introduces something. Assuming you can complete "some" sketches since September of this year, what is the difference between sketches that crash and those that don't?

2. Are you using special text objects, esp. with a unique font you installed? (not default on macOS)

Can you share one of these designs?

What happens if you turn off 3D sketching?

Thanks for the advise i thought I was alone in the jungle. I turned off 3D sketches and it still crashes. It happens on every sketch I attempt to make. I can open a new empty project select a plane and draw any, rectangle, circle etc and when I hit complete sketch It crashes out of the program. Every time, not just occasionally. It did not do this under Catalina. It would crash at times but now you can't do anything including trying to modify existing objects. The program is simply useless as is. I've done a clean reinstall of Fusion didn't help. I'm at a loss.

1. They are just simple sketches using circle, rectangle, etc. Nothing else. I cannot make a simple sketch of a rectangle, etc. All attempts to create a sketch fail. The program does not lock up. I crashes out of the program entirely after the report problem window is clicked.

2. No special text tools or addons or fonts being used at the time.

3. After hitting finish the programs goes out of sketching pauses second then I get the spinning color wheel of death and the report problem window appears. Once you hit the windows button the program crashes to my desktop. I posted a video of this on the Fusion 360 Forum. And thanks for your reply. I’m at a loss. Can’t use the software at all like this.

Have you tried using the "finish sketch" button in the toolbar, rather than the one in the Sketch Palette?

Try turning off autocomplete in your apple settings.

You sir are a genius, using the menu button instead works. No more crashes, but what the heck happened and is there a way to fix it so I can use both buttons again. I'm so used to using the window button I'm going to be hitting it by accident for sure. But at least I can get somewhere now. Thanks so much!

Turning off Auto complete in the browser and the keyboard setting didn't stop the crashes.

@billgraphics I am seeing events from macOS suggesting text input/replacement or some sort of keyboard accessibility event. It sounds like you've also seen this when interacting with the browser - do you recall if there was a text entry field involved with that crash as well?

Is there anything notable about your input settings, such as another keyboard input language or layout?

No as I said in my posts if I hit the browser top pull out it crashes the system without having done anything. I just open a new file click to open the browser after a sketch and crash. Now having gone in to check things for sending this reply I don't seem to even have a browser.  It is not hidden I created an object, no browser. This is version 2.0.9313 by the way and I am running on a Mac Pro late 2013, 3.5 GHz 6 core Xeon E5 with 16GB 1866 MHz DDR3 ram and  dual AMD FirePro D500 cars # GB each. And this is the first I've seen of these responses. I've had the problem for nearly a month now.
