I'd like to bevel the edge between the face of the part which projects into the box and the edge of the inside of the box.  But I created a problem when I extruded the part which projects into the box by joining it.  So now I don't have an edge where I need one.  That's what the construction line (pointed to by an arrow) is about.  I thought that would help but I have not found a way to make it help.  Of course I could start over or perhaps backup but that would be admitting defeat and missing a learning opportunity.  So I am asking here if it is possible to create a bevel (chamfer) between the construction line and the face of the part which projects into the box (also identified by an arrow)?

When I couldn't make chamfer work I was sure I could create a construction plane and use it to do a cut.  But I was also unable to create the right construction plane.

So .. if you can help I'd be grateful.

Thank you VERY much CADWhisperer.  My problem with Chamfer, I guess, is that the blue arrow which is part of the dialog  didn't make much sense to me.  I couldn't see how dragging it was going to accomplish what I wanted to do.  So, seeing from your file that chamfer does indeed do what I need, I just ignored the arrow and typed in a value and it did exactly what I wanted.  In your other solution I can't be certain but it appears that you drew a sketch on the edge of the part which projects into the box and then used that for an extrude/cut.  That just never occurred to me.  Brain getting too calcified!  Thanks again.  (Now Less Befuddled) Bob
