Bend lines disappear after extruding 2 corner tear

Looking for help with an issue that has only just become apparent.

Up until very recently (latest update maybe) I have been able to take a 2 corner bend and extrude one side of the tear. Typically this would be about 0.7mm ( in 0.9mm sheet material) but I have been able to get up to 0.9mm.

The purpose being to close up the seam and give more material to help fettle smooth.

Previously, the flat pattern of this would show up perfectly with both bend lines and bend extents, although I don't require the extents to be shown, just the bend lines.

Now, when doing the same operation the bends lines not being shown, but bend extents are. This only happens when I do the extrude on both ends of the bend, one side still shows as before, but I generally need both sides. the bend lines are not hidden/unchecked, just not shown as a option.

I have played with the tear value in the sheet metal rules and not had any luck. I was able to get a max 0.25mm extrudes before the bend lines disappeared again.

I realise that I'm probably trying to make the software do something that it shouldn't be able to calculate, but my issue is that it worked before and not now and it's kinda screwed me going forward.

So is this something that was a bug (that I had been exploiting) and has been fixed or is there something I can do to regain this ability?

Many Thanks

James

Hi @james_r_hutchinson ,

Looks like a but to me.

I have reported as FUS-82144 in internal issue tracking system.

I will get back to you if i get confirmation if it's a bug.

Thanks for your response Sujay, I appreciate you looking into this for me.

I'm still having the same issue but might have found a work around.

If you apply the extrude while the sheet is in the unfold state you get both bend and extent lines, but will only work when doing one side, trying it on both gives only extent lines.

However, If I make half the part, then extrude the tear face(in unfolded state), the flat still shows incorrectly (only bend extends)

But once I have mirrored and joined the part the flat blank shows correctly (both bend line and extent).

Success!

However...

Unfortunately, while this gives me the bend lines in the correct positions for our machines to pickup, visually the corner revert back to having odd cutouts in the flat, rather than a nice 90deg square corner, which can cause our programmers issues.......

So for now I can work around the issue but any improvements/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

James
