Hi,
I'm basically having the same issue as this user was having 4.5 years ago:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/balloon-referencing-a-sheet-metal-body/m-p...
In short, there's a Catch 22 where I can't add balloons to a drawing because my sheet metal part is a body instead of a component, but Fusion 360 also won't let me convert a sheet metal body into a component. I've attached a screencast illustrating the issue.
(Actually that feature seems to not be working atm, but here's the URL: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/community/screencast/42e14e3a-8088-443b-8043-4d4979d89e1c)
In the forum post from 4.5 years ago, there's the suggestion: "insert your initial design (with only the sheet metal body) as sub component". Which would be great if I understood how to do that. Maybe the UI has changed since that was suggested, or I'm just still kind of a noob, but I'm not finding a way to do that.
The crux of the issue, which probably has other implications besides just adding balloons to drawings, is that I can't find a straightforward path to making a component from sheet metal. I did find this video with a potential solution:

This seems like a rather strange way to go about it, and seems more like a hack or a workaround than an accepted best practice. Is that really the way to do this? What is the accepted best practice way to make a sheet metal component?
Thanks!
