Is anyone else having this issue? This is not occurring for every student in this email domain, but for some reason a few do have this issue. I have tried to have the students use a transcript from the guidance department as a means of proof that is requested, but that does not seem to work either.

Also, students have gotten the email verification, it is just that they are stuck in a trial version with this preventing them from having an education account.

SheerID is the company that runs the verification process for Autodesk licenses for education. I did some digging before and found as much information regarding eligibility.

please look at number 6 specifically in this list - it has the PDF instructions from the people who are actually going to verify your students - I believe it can help a lot!

The list is simply an linear timeline of what I found until I got to my solution which is number 6.

  1. https://damassets.autodesk.net/content/dam/autodesk/www/fusion-360/Fusion%20Single%20Install%20Instr... (doesn't tell you how to figure out eligibility)
  2. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/education-program/who-can-join/el... ( tells you who is eligible but not how to prove it)
  3. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/education-program/create-educatio...  (tells you who is eligible but not how to prove it)
  4. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/education-program/who-can-join  (finally offers a Learn More option)
  5. https://damassets.autodesk.net/content/dam/autodesk/www/industries/education/docs/edu-verification-c... (Now we learn that there is an outsourced company that verifies for Autodesk - SheerID)
  6. https://verify.sheerid.com/autodesk-student-faq/ (BINGO - here is the simple instruction of what to submit!)

I believe you can possibly reach out to them with an example of the document you are using and inquire regarding the content of your proof of identity and if they are viable under their guidelines

I have had a few students request a transcript. For some reason SheerID said it was not valid? I might have to try using the "official" letter from the school to verify that they are enrolled. The list of information that they need does help though. I will provide an update once that has been attempted.

Hi @tkompierZHM8T,

It will be worth making it an official letter - better with a letterhead etc so it falls under valid documentation:

Examples of qualifying documentation include:
▪ Registration receipt
▪ Tuition receipt
▪ Dated student ID
▪ Class schedule
▪ Official letters
▪ Transcript
▪ Employee ID or link to faculty listing on school website
The document must include:
▪ Your full legal name
▪ The name of the educational institution at which you are enrolled or
employed
▪ A date within the current school term

It's worth saying that the date within the current term is the most often one to be missed. https://damassets.autodesk.net/content/dam/autodesk/www/industries/education/docs/verification-faq.p...

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for contacting SheerID regarding student verification for Autodesk. Let me help you with this.

We appreciate your patience as we work through an overwhelming volume of emails due to this unprecedented current situation with COVID-19, and the popularity of some of our client offers.

The error is showing when not instantly verified, they can retry submitting their request. As a security measure and in compliance with the data privacy policy, we're only able to disclose the details of a verification request to the person signing up for the offer.

We kindly ask your student to contact us directly with the email address he/she used on the verification form and we'd be glad to assist them in getting approved. No worries, we're here to assist through manual verification whenever necessary.

You may also check the Autodesk Verification FAQs to learn more: https://damassets.autodesk.net/content/dam/autodesk/www/industries/education/docs/edu-verification-c....

Thanks for your understanding.

Kind regards,
Dan

One of my students found a solution through SheerID.

If your school uses Skyward for attendance and student information, they will have to submit a screenshot of their "Student Info" page as a means of verification for their education license. They will get an email that verifies that the process worked.

Thank you everyone who has helped along the way!
