Autodesk Slicer Unable to set Different Material Thickness

Autodesk Slicer Unable to set Different Material Thickness

Hi,

I am trying to set a 1/4" material thickness for Fusion Slicer but I am unable to do so. It looks like there are only two thicknesses to choose from: 0.01772" and 4.5 mm. If I try to set a custom manufacturing setting the material thickness always resets to zero or defaults to 0.4" or 1"

Is there a way to set it to 1/4"? (0.25")

I am running the Slicer & Fusion on a Mac.

I haven't used the Slicer add-in much, but have you tried to create a custom Material to set the thickness?

There's a support contact for the Slicer add-in on the app store page.

https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=8699194120463301363&os=Win64&appLang=en

Have you tried contacting them?

I hope this helps!

Hi Nathan,

Thank you for your reply! The custom material window (shown in your screenshot) is where I am having this problem. For some reason when I am trying to create a new custom material with a custom thickness, the custom thickness field does not allow me to put in different thickness than 1" or 0.001. If I type in another value than these two, after I leave the custom thickness field it automatically resets to 0.001 or just 0.000 - even if I have created a brand new material. Do you

Do you have experienced anything like this before? I am starting to think that it might be a bug in the program. Not sure.

Perhaps some of the default materials that come with the add-in are Read Only. I'm not totally sure.

Have you tried first duplicating a material or even creating a new custom material before modifying thickness values?

I hope that helps!

Thanks,

Hi! Thank you. I am having this issue even when I create a new custom material. Same with duplicating the material.
I will try to contact the ad-in developer as you suggested.

I know it's way too late to solve your problem, but for everybody else: instead of typing "0.25" (using POINT to separate numbers) type "0,25" (using COMMA).

I hope this helps!

I have exactly the same error. I wanted to cut elements on the CNC machine, and at the moment I only have 6 mm thick MDF. If I use the files that the program generates with a layer thickness of 4.5 mm, then the output on the machine will be a deformed model that will differ from the preview in the program.
